Hike Angel Island: A Colorful History

Fun Activity Info

You must take the ferry to get here, but Angel Island's very colorful history and beautiful views are well worth the trip. The ferry arrives at Ayala Cove and if you head left from the ferry dock, you will see the Northridge Trailhead and the entry to the hike. Angel Island has served as a quarantine station, an immigration station, an army processing center and a cattle ranch. No dogs are allowed. Dressing in layers for the hike is a good idea, since the island has ""micro-climates"". There are about 13 miles of trail.
